Carried by ISRO‘s reliable PSLV rocket, the Aditya L1 mission embarks on a 125-day journey to the Sun.
Initially, the Aditya L1 spacecraft will remain in Earth’s orbit for a duration of sixteen days. Following this initial phase, the satellite will embark on a four-month journey, eventually reaching its destination at the L1 point, situated in a halo orbit around the Sun.
The launch event occurred at precisely 11:50 AM at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. ISRO initiated the 23.10-hour countdown for the Aditya L1 launch on Friday.
The primary objective of the Aditya L1 mission is to provide remote observations of the solar corona and conduct in-situ measurements of the solar wind at the L1 point, which is approximately 1.5 million kilometers from Earth.
